London Walk

Simon Whitehouse our wonderful Blue Badge guide  will lead us through a fascinating exploration of the City of London. The first walk in the morning,  will focus on the history of the Roman/Saxon and early medieval period, taking in the Roman wall and other ruins.   After lunch  we’ll explore the city in the times of Shakespeare, the effects of the Great Fire and the changes resulting in the 18th century city and the devastation caused by World War Two.   We will look at the modern city which we see today and discuss the vision for its  future.

We will meet at the Tower Hill Tram ( a mobile refreshment carriage) next to Tower Hill underground and next door to the Citizen M hotel at 11.00 AM.
